How much does a website cost in 2026?
The price of a website can vary a lot, and it is not always clear why. Here we explain what actually affects the price, which costs come every year, and what a website costs with us – with fixed prices stated up front.

Why do prices vary so much?
When you ask for quotes on a website, the answers can be far apart. That rarely means anyone is cheating. Usually agencies are pricing different things: one quote covers a simple site with five pages, another includes copywriting, photography, an online store and months of follow-up. Compare what is included, not just the total.
We do not show general market prices here, because we have no reliable public source we can stand behind. Instead, we go through the factors that decide the price, so you can ask the right questions – whoever you choose.
What affects the price most
- Number of pages: a simple site with 1–5 pages is quicker to build than a business site with 6–15 pages, separate service pages and several forms.
- Text and photos: if your text and own photos are ready, the work goes faster. If the agency writes everything or sources images, it takes longer.
- Features: appointment booking, table booking, an online store, payments or integrations take more work than a normal contact form.
- Design: a well-made template adapted to your brand costs less than a fully custom design from scratch.
- SEO groundwork: the right structure, titles, descriptions and good speed from the start make it easier to be found later.
- Revision rounds: how many rounds of changes are included affects both price and time.
Costs that come every year
The website itself is a one-off cost, but some expenses recur: the domain (for example yourcompany.no), hosting and any paid plugins or themes. You pay these separately, directly to the provider. With us everything is in your name, so you own the domain, the website and all accounts.
Many also choose maintenance: updates, security and backups. You can do it yourself or pay someone. Maintenance & care with us costs NOK 490/month, with no lock-in.

How to avoid paying too much
- Ask for a fixed price in writing, with a list of what is included.
- Ask who owns the domain, the website and the accounts when the project is done.
- Check whether monthly services have a lock-in period.
- Ask how many revision rounds are included, and what extra rounds cost.
- Start with what you need now. A small, good website can be expanded later.
